Current flash memory chips are made with 65nm technology, and are both both relatively small and power efficient. Memory manufacturer Toshiba has now presented a memory chip taking things to a whole new level, it has namely presented a chip made with a 15 nm manufacturing process, which in theory makes 100 Gb flash memory chips feasible. The chip was unveiled in Washington DC earlier this week, but will not be commercially available for quite some time. Chips using 15 nm technology is not expected to arrive until 2011, but it’s always nice getting a peek of tomorrow.
