The last we heard about X38 there were still some soft tweaking needed and that the launch in late August – early September would be delayed, no one knew by how much. Well it seems that things have worked out quite nice as all of the big three (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte) are looking to have X38 motherboards in the channel in the middle of September. The chip is OK (and have been for some time) and now the software and BIOS are close to final as well. The embargo ends on September 24, but boards are actually expected to appear in stores before that.

We’ve said it from the start, but here goes (once again): there is no official desktop SLI support with X38.
