AMD has rolled out its entire assortmet of 28nm graphics circuits and the only thing remaining is the renowned ”New Zealand”. The retail name is expected to be Radeon HD 7990, which will sport two graphics circuit and is now said to launch in April.
AMD has been fairly open with that it is planning a graphics card in the Southern Islands family with two graphics circuits. The card dubbed New Zealand will most likely sport two Tahiti GPUs – the model found in the Radeon HD 7900 series. The exact configuration, number of Radeon cores and other details are still foggy, but it we at least have a launch period to set in the calendar, namely April.
According to Fudzilla AMD is planning a launch of Radeon HD 7990 just a few weeks after NVIDIA introduces its new falgship GeForce GTX 680 that is based on its first 28nm GPU – Kepler GK104.
The only thing we can say for certain is that Radeon HD 7990 will be a big card in all aspects, sporting impressive performance, consuming lots of power and cost accordingly.
