AMD has just released its first 65nm processors and we’re still waiting for the first advanced 45nm circuits from the semiconductor manufacturers. But already they’ve started to test the new manufacturing processes that will come after the next generation. According to sources to DigiTimes both Intel and TSMC have started to develop prototypes made with 32nm technology. Even if there will be no products on the market using this process for quite some time it shows that the big semiconductor manufacturers are on the right track. If we look to the coming generation of products, at 45nm, they are not that far off. According to Intel, it will start mass producing 45nm processors during the second half of 2007.
