We newly have witnessed how modules packing 1GB has took on the market and with two of those you get a respectable total of 2GB. It is only a matter of time before the industry will try to standardize even bigger modules, such as 2GB, which Samsung shows clearly by announcing RAM-modules packing a huge 8GB. These aren’t the first 8GB-modules from Samsung, but this time it’s about Fully Buffered Dual In-Line Memory Module (FB-DIMM)-models. The new FB-DIMM-models utilize Samsung’s 2GB memory chip manufactured with 80nm process. The modules are aimed towards servers with not all to much space, where high memory density is extra important. But you simply can’t resist to wonder how Battlefield 2 would act with 16GB RAM i dual channels.
