Samsung continues to push the development of NAND-flash memory forward and now it has announced that it has started to massproduce 90nm 512Mbit mobile DRAM-chips. The new chips can in pair offer up to 1Gbit capacity and transfer data over a 32-bit bus at speeds up to 1.3GB/s. The new OneNAND-flash memories will be able to optimize the performance with handheld devices at among other high resolution images, but also lower the power consumption. It also expectes that the handheld devices’ demand for mobile DRAM will increase a lot during the coming years up until 2010.
