Samsung has now presented the next commercial solution to how LCD will be able to compete with plasma in the larger segments; a 70″ LCD panel. This panel has an updating frequency of 120Hz, twice that of a regular LCD panel, but also something we’ve seen with many bigger models before. Samsung is planning on having this panel ready early next year and that TVs using this panel will appear just a month later. Except from the high updating frequency it also sports HD resolution, if anyone thought otherwise. During the presentation the panel displayed some very impressive image quality which we can only hope will spread to smaller models as well.
