Samsung has been second on the LCD TV market for some time now, but according to the latest reports it has now been able to climb to the top. For just as long, Sharp was the dominating actor, but lately the situation has become all the more even. The fact is that the difference between Samsung (14.64%) and Sony (12.74%), which is fourth, is only 1.9% market shares. Also Philips (13.41%) has had a good year and has moved past Sharp (13.33%) and now holds the second place on a market that changes incredibly fast and will most likely keep doing so for some time. LG is the fifth largest, but is still a bit behind with 7.64%.

This is over the whole year though and according to a report by iSuppli, Sharp dropped considerably during the fourth quarter. Samsung on the other hand had a very strong period at the end of the year and this was the reason it was able to surpass Sharp. Also Philips had a very good ending, which was also reflected in the yearly result.
