WirelessHD has finally made it into a market ready product. The technology developed by SiBEAM enables users to stream high definition video wirelessly from the computer to a monitor or TV. ASUS claims to be the first to get WirelessHD through the new G53 and G73JW series.

Both ASUS G53 and G73JW are geared toward gamers and demanding users where performance is more important than mobility and battery time. Through SiBEAM’s wirless video network circuit, transmitting over the 60 GHz band, the computers can stream 1080p/60 video without cables.

The WirelessHD standard is expected to find its way into everything from TVs to Blu-ray players and stationary media boxes over the coming year, and ASUS is just one of many companies that will make this happen. How well the technology works in real life and what kind of effect it will have on the battery remains to be seen. During the Fall we should see these and more computers with the technologies.
