Semiconductor sales continues to rise. As the numbers have been summarized it turns out that semiconductors worth 24.65 billion dollars were sold in May, an improvement of 4.5 percent since the record note the month before.
Going back to May 2009 the global sales of semiconductors have increased by 47.6 percent, a number that beats analyst expectations.
The numbers were presented by World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) and shows that the sales have increased the most in America and China where the former region reported sales of 4.265 billion dollar on a three-month average. An increase of 8.2 percent from last period and up 52.9 percent year-to-year. In China sales reached 5.33 billion dollar and showed great improvement with 59.6 percent increase year-to-year.
In Europe and Japan the total sales and increase from previous periods was less noticeable.
The Japanese and European regions lagged the world markets with three-month averaged sales in May of $3.72 billion and $3.15 billion respectively. Monthly growth was 1.3 and 1.7 percent, respectively and year-on-year growth was 34.7 and 43.8 percent, respectively.
