Considering how popular the free download of the Windows 7 beta was there are many, many who are sitting around writing for the final version of the new operating system to be announced. Many claims that Windows 7 is finally delivering what Vista should have and fittingly we hear from unconfirmed sources about an upgrade package from Vista to Windows 7. Based on documents claimed to be from Microsoft sent out to various partners, it will offer a free upgrade to Windows 7, from Windows Vista.

Before checking if Hell has frozen over or if pigs really do can fly we should say that it only applies to computers bought a few months before the launch of Windows 7. Those who buy a computer after July 1st 2009 and up until New Years Eve will get a free upgrade to Windows 7, with the exception of Vista Home Basic. Those who choose to upgrade will get the same version of Windows 7 as they had of Vista.

In other words: Vista Home Premium becomes W7 Home premium, Vista Business becomes W7 Professional and Vista Ultimate becomes W7 Ultimate. It certainly sounds all too generous of Microsoft that usually gets yelled at for trying to squeeze their customers for every penny.
