GeForce 8600 and 8500 are expected next month, perhaps accompanied by a new big brother in the form of 8800 Ultra, but so far there have mainly been talk about frequencies and Megabytes. VR-Zone has published some benchmark results for the two series and even if they are synthetic such they still give you a hint of what to expect. 8600GTS is said to reach 57XX points in 3DMark 06, while 8600GT reaches 47XX points. On the other hand, GeForce 8500 is said to end up at about 2200 points with a Core 2 Extreme 6800. This is slightly better than the current GeForce 7950GT, 7900GS and 7600GT.

All three are stated to be very cool with TDPs at 71W and 43W respectively for the 8600 cards. We’ve earlier reported about the exact specifications and prices of these and based on this things are looking quite promising for NVIDIA. Even if the latest news about AMD’s R600 seems almost too good to be true.
