Socket AM2 is finally here and after many months on the edge of our seats AMD has now decided to launch its new platform, where the support for DDR2-SDRAM is the big news. We’ve had a first glance at the new platform and how it performs compared to its predecessor and in the preview we publish here today we will take a closer look at the changes the AM2 platform brings in comparison to AMD’s current 939 platform, which until today has housed AMD’s best performing processors.
