Thermaltake are known for its many and often conspicuous cooling solutions and now that is has launched a new graphics card cooler things are pretty much the same. Thermaltake DuOrb is a graphics card cooler for NVIDIA’s GeForce 6/7/8 series and ATI’s Radeon X19xx/19xx series, which sports a design with elements of both past and future coolers. Like most coolers on the market there are some heatpipes involved for removing the heat from the GPU, while the final cooling is handled by two so called orb cooler. Thermaltake and Zalman are two manufacturers that have used this cooler design before, but it’s not everyday we see two 80mm orbs in one cooler.
It’s hard to predict what kind of performance to expect from Thermaltake DuOrb and we’re still waiting for information on the price and availability, but those who have been missing the popular orb design now has a new baby to care for. In our experience the cooler should work with R600 as well, but it doesn’t say anything about it in the press release.
