ThermalTake TMG ND4 is as far as we know the first universal water cooling block for NVIDIA’s GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards and ThermalTake seems to have gone for a hybrid solution. We’ve seen several graphics card manufacturers launch cards with NVIDIA’s new monster circuit cooled by water, but no one has launched a separate water block and definitely not with both water and air cooling. TMG N4 is namely a hybrid cooler using a copper water block combined with a very quiet 60mm fan for cooling both graphics core and memory.

”Custom tailor designed for Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX, TMG ND4 VGA cooler utilizes state of the art Brazing Technology to weld waterblock with all copper cold plate. Coupled with high density stacked fins for faster heat convection with surrounding cool air, TMG ND4 not only cools the main GPU, but the GDDR3 memory as well.”

The cooler can, as expected, be paired with ThermalTake’s own water cooling kits, but also other manufacturers’ kits thanks to universal quick connectors. The cooler will according to ThermalTake be considerably more efficient and quieter than NVIDIA’s reference cooler, but we’re still waiting for the price.
