As reported earlier there are rumors about free upgrades to Windows 7, under certain circumstances of course. For those who don’t meet these requirements it might be interesting to know what a new copy of Windows 7 might cost. Luckily (?) there are some unconfirmed information on this too, and also information on the delay of the other language versions of Windows 7.



The prices comes from windows-secrets.de and are as follows:



  • Windows 7 starter $199,95
  • Windows 7 Home premium $259,96
  • Windows 7 Professional $299,95
  • Windows 7 Ultimate $319,95
  • Windows 7 Enterprise and Home Basic still unknown

Even if the launch date for Windows 7 isn’t known, TechArp.com has published what they claim to be the delay for various languages:



  • At launch: English, Spanish, Japanese,German, French
  • 14 days later: Italian, Dutch, Russian, Simplified Chinese
  • 28 days later: Brazilian Portuguese, Polish,Turkish, Korean
  • 45 days later: Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), Czech, Portuguese, Hungarian
  • 59 days later: Swedish, Danish, Norwegian (Bokmål), Finnish
  • 73 days later: Arabic, Hebrew, Greek, Ukrainian
  • 87 days later: Thai, Romanian, Lithuanian, Slovak, Bulgarian
  • 101 days later: Estonian, Croatian, Serbian Latin, Latvian, Slovenian
