GeForce 9600GT is the mid-range card of the upcoming GeForce 9 series. It is meant to replace the very short-lived GeForce 8800 GS and battle the Radeon 3850. GeForce 9600GT sports 64 shader processors running at 1625MHz, core clock of 650MHz and 512MB GDDR3 memory running at 1800MHz. Over at Expreview they tested the card and compared it to GeForce 8800GS and 8800GT in 3DMark 06. As the card is meant to replace the GeForce 8800GS the performance was expected to be similar and it is, practically identical.
