US overclocker Vince ”k|ngp|n” Lucido has together with EVGA broken world records in 3Dmark Vantage Performance with a very powerful system that was pictured a lot earlier on. With dual Xeon processors, four GeForce GTX 480 graphics cards and a total of 9 (!) LN2 pots.

K|ngp|n has now shown us that it is not just good for modelling, but also delivers in the performance department. The 3DMark Vantage Performance world record is P70173 and apparently there is more to get.

The components used during the overclocking were the following.

  • EVGA Classified SR-2
  • 2x Intel Xeon X5680 @ 5446 MHz
  • 4x EVGA GTX 480 @ 1101/4408 MHz
  • 3x 2GB G.Skill F3-160000CL7
  • EVGA Classified SR-2 1200W

We have a feeling there will be more results coming over the days to come, and with dual processors it is truly 3DMark Vantage territory he is venturing for where not the least four GeForce GTX 480 graphics cards can be too much for ”just” six cores.
