OCZ Technology reported an incerase in SSD sales by 260% in August and has now announced that it is planning to open a new plant in Taiwan to meet the growing demand. The plant is slated to open on October 25th with capacity to make 90,000 drives per month.

OCZ currently has the capacity to make 50,000 SSDs per month and when noticing an increase in revenue by 51% in fiscal Q2 2011 it was good news that required drastic measures. The company sold 54,000 units in August, which was really over the current manufacturing capacity.

”As our SSD revenues continue to expand, we are happy to announce our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Taipei, Taiwan,” säger Ryan Petersen, vd vid OCZ Technology Group. ”Our new 20,000 square foot facility was set up in response to increased demand from OEMs for our Enterprise Solid State Drive products and significantly increases our monthly SSD capacity.”

With the new plant OCZ Technologies will be capabale of making up to 140,000 units per month for both retail and businesses to meet market demands for SSDs in the future.
