Small preview imageSony BMG  has been receiving as lot of criticism lately as it was revealed that some CDs released by the company contains a copy protection which more or less works as a spy ware program. Rootkit is a word more or less every computer interested person knows by now and by going through practically all stages Sony has now decided to retract all CDs with the critized copy protection. Sony and Amazon.com therefor offers the possibility to send back the CDs and get new CDs without the protection, or download the songs for free. At Amazon.com you can read the following text regarding the retraction.

”Due to security concerns raised about the use of CDs containing this software on PCs, Sony has recalled these CDs and has asked Amazon.com to remove all unsold CDs with XCP software from our store. Since you purchased this CD from Amazon.com, you may return it to us for a full refund regardless of whether the CD is opened or unopened.”
